 Dance Discipline Description

Pre-Ballet: One-hour class providing enjoyment of movement, expression, and sensitvity to the music of today's girls. Ballet is the basis of all dance forms and is strongly recommended if taking other dance disciplines

Folklorico: One-hour class incorporating footwork and skirt technique from the different regions of Mexico. Traditional and nontraditional choreography is instructed to provide dancers with a fun and enjoyable learning experience. Dancers will be educated on the rich culture of Mexico and its vibrant dances.

Flamenco: One-hour class incorporating Zapateado, Munecas, Palmas, shawl, and castanet work. Slow pace and very thorough fo beginners. Medium-paced for the intermediate levels(at least two years Flamenco is required for advanced levels). Traditional and non-traditional choreography is instructed to provide dancers with a fun learning experience and keeping the passion of flamenco alive with a twist of modern choreography. Dancers will be educated on Spain's culture and its passion for dance.

Hip-Hop: One-hour class incorporating a very stylish form of street dancing using free-style movement. This is a very upbeat class with a high tempo.

Salsa: One-hour class introduces the basic steps, turns, and initial exposure to leading and following techniques. An array of Latin rhythms that are expressive and fun. This explosive art form gives the dancer the ability to be part of the latest dance craze. Energetic choreography is taught to enhance the furl of the Latin culture.

Latin Social Dance: One-hour class that covers an array of Latin dance forms to include salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Rumbas, and Cha Cha. This energetic class for individuals or partners. Basic steps to fun and intricate choreography.

Class Attire

Pre-Ballet: Pink/Black short sleeve leotard, pink dance tights, black ballet shoes, hair pulled back in a bun.

Folklorico: black short sleeve leotard, pink folklorico practice skirt, black folklorico shoes, hair pulled back in a bun

Flamenco: black long sleeve leotard, black practice skirt, black flamenco shoes and ballet ballet shoes, hair pulled back in a bun or ponytail, Castanets, shawl, and Spainsh fan needed

Hip-Hop: Black jazz pants, black jazz top, black jazz shoes, hair pulled back in a bun or ponytail

Salsa: comfortable dance wear, dance shoes you'd wear while out dancing at your favorite club(no tennis shoes or sandals)
